In response to the recent tragedies in Nova Scotia the Maritime Modern Quilt Guild will be coordinating a quilt drive for families that have been affected. More information will be forthcoming by the end of the week. Please email email@example.com for further information. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page, Instagram account (@_maritimemqg) or webpage https://maritimemodernquiltguild.ca/
In consideration of the World Health Organization declaring the coronavirus (COVID-19) a pandemic, the Public Health Association of Canada’s recommendations, city of Halifax’s discouraging events of more than 50, the Maritime Modern Quilt Guild has decided to cancel our meetings and Sew Ins until further notice.
We are acting out of a sense of responsibility to our members and our greater community. We are replacing Sew In with an Instagram sew day where we share pics along with quilting prompts at our guild account @_maritimemqg, sharing craft space tours in our stories, and using the hashtag #MMQGsewin
Please wash your hands, stay well, and we hope to see you virtually soon!
If you feel ill, please go to https://811.novascotia.ca/health_topics/covid-19-when-to-call-811/
To summarize: protect yourself and keep our community healthy, limit your contacts. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Avoid crowds, no more than 10 if you're over 60.
The Maritime Modern Quilt Guild (MMQG) exists to provide a place where non-traditional, fresh, modern quilters can meet, share, create and basically do quilty stuff!
Our group was founded in November, 2013.
